shannon, amy and i visited the portland saturday market after the ckc show, before heading home. i am SO GLAD we went! first of all the awesome metro was totally FREE and easy to navigate, so within minutes were were under the bridge soaking in all the artistic goodness!! these gorgeous cloches are made from recycled clothing by Flood Clothing.
the artist, nicole, is SO ADORABLE and energetic; she is one of those gals where the creativity just spills from her every pore! and how CUTE was she, pregnant? we really enjoyed this booth and the innovative and resourceful way she made something BEAUTIFUL out of cast-offs. SO INSPIRING! (and, yes, i bought the red one!!! ;D ) she also inspired me to hop on over to my local thrift shops yesterday and scoop up a few bag-fulls of beautiful things...just waiting to become something new! thank you, nicole! :)
the convention was so much fun, and really inspired us to run home and scrap, man! :D loved hearing ali speak/present, loved meeting so many women who share in a love for this hobby. a few quick shots...
amy and i with kristina in the background flashing the bunny ears ;D lol
the whole gang (rachel, amy, kristina, shannon, me) washed out in convention floor flourescent lighting, haha...(yay-sorry!) :P ignore the buttons round my neck attached to the nametag...i was macgyvering an easier way to hold them while passing them out! lol (is that a verb, now? macgyvering? am i even spelling that right? i think i will make it a verb in my world. lol)
shannon in action...in her element! it was so fun to watch her shoot!
and sweet elizabeth dillow, who was there teaching for simple scrapbooks, our favorite mag in the entire uuuuuuuniverrrrrrrse! :D ;D she is so sweet...i can't believe she was able to do all that with her due date so near....GO ELIZABETH!! you are amazing! :)
