a stinky hotel internet connection here in rotorua, nz equals a blast of photos and a few short words...as many as the connection will allow me to muster before i get kicked off!

snippets of things learned thus far:
wool roving here in nz is a wool sliver.
nz is pronounced "EN-ZED", not "EN-ZEE".
scallops are "SKALL-ups" not "skALups".
baylor is in love with the ninja turtles.
my insect-bite allergy still works here. (eyeroll) (thank you, alavert!)
mcdonalds has healthy menu options outside of america.
rubbish, nappies, toilets, tomato sauce, lollies =
(trash, diapers, bathroom, ketchup, sweets/candy) in that order.
i miss rootbeer.
wear red poppies for Anzac day (coming on Friday 25 april...I'll be wearing mine! will you?) in support of those men and women who sacrifice for their country, and the many others who love them who are left behind: they are just as brave and courageous! thank you one and ALL.
anything by Arnotts and you can't go wrong.
i actually CAN survive without using a curling iron or blowdryer.
mapreading skills come in handy, nay, crucial. dude. i could SO do the Amazing Race. now i KNOW it. except the eating gross crap part. i'd shove that off on my partner. ;)

along a steep path up a mountainside from the beach,
someone, somewhere, sometime
stopped their ascent and sat to weave
together these grasses, still living, still growing;
a little treasure.

i miss home, but adore this land. we look forward to travelling to wellington in the morning! hope to be back soon with more.....
